Levy Gardens Assisted Living tenants now have a larger patio area for relaxing, socializing, and enjoying music and food outside. The updated patio space includes plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas, manicured landscape, and easy access to campus-wide buildings and activities.
“Our old patio was nice but, if you remember, it was small, it was enclosed, and the furniture was definitely not as comfortable,” said Lisa Long, Youngstown Area Jewish Federation financial resource development director, at an unveiling June 19. Nicholas Hargate, Levy Gardens director, added, “This is one of the big things we wanted to do here recently to add more intergenerational programming. This gives us an easy access point over to the JCC and Akiva [Academy].”
Blondie Levy provided generous matching gift funds for the project.
“So I was able to go to the community and say that every gift you give will be matched,” said Long. “And we raised more than we initially thought we could.”
Over $21,000 was raised for the project.
