Skilled Nursing Care Week was May 9 to 15. A variety of activities were offered at Heritage Manor Rehabilitation & Retirement Community to celebrate and thank staff members. “The staff working in long-term care facilities are some of the most compassionate individuals on earth,” said Shane Baldwin, director of operations. “They care for the frail elderly, those of any age receiving rehabilitation services, and hospice patients at the end of their lives. The nurses, STNAs, dietary staff, housekeepers, maintenance crew, and administrative personnel provide an array of services day in and day out. All of their hard work each day makes Heritage Manor a place that our residents can call home.”
Activities included chair massages, a catered lunch, a carnival for staff and residents, and the opportunity to dunk Shane Baldwin, director of operations, Eric Murray, executive director, and Nicholas Hargate, Levy Gardens director.
“Sometimes recognition and thanks are assumed or taken for granted,” Baldwin added. “This week gives us the opportunity to make sure our staff knows how much they are appreciated. It is the least we can do for their dedication to those entrusted to our care.”
